Lawyer Card
The official identification card for lawyers registered with a Belgian bar. It is your proof of identity as a lawyer and your access badge for court buildings.
What is the Lawyer Card?
The Lawyer Card is the official identification card for lawyers registered with a Belgian bar. It serves as the lawyer’s official proof of identity and is the access badge for court buildings. The card meets the CCBE standard (Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe) and carries the CCBE logo and the European stars.
Physical identification
The card shows the lawyer’s name and photo (protected with a watermark), so you can identify yourself immediately to the police, security services, court registries, prisons and courts.
Access to court buildings
The card contains a contactless chip (NFC), which makes it the official means of access to court buildings with access control. A card gives access when the lawyer is active and the card has been activated.
Digital identity and signature
The Lawyer Card is no longer used to log in: you now authenticate with eID or itsme®. To sign electronically as a lawyer, you use the electronic lawyer signature based on itsme®.
