Since June 2025, all users of the DPA platform log in through CSAM with the Belgian identity card (eID) or itsme®. Lawyers, assistants (mandate holders) and bar staff all log in in the same simple and secure way.
How do lawyers log in to the DPA platform?
- Authentication on the DPA platforms is done with eID or itsme®.
Please note: the lawyer’s national register or BIS number must be registered with the bar to log in with eID or itsme®. - Logging in with the lawyer card is no longer possible; since June 2025 all users of the DPA platform log in with eID or itsme®.

Access as a mandate holder or non-lawyer?
- Lawyers’ assistants first need a mandate before they can log in to the DPA platform.
- Assistants log in, as always, through CSAM with eID or itsme®.
Logging in through DPA with a username and password
For some applications you can log in with a username and password.
- Your username is an e-mail address. You cannot change it yourself; only your bar or our service desk can.
- DPA can neither see nor recover your password.
- Forgot your password? Click “Request password” on the login page.
- For lawyers of the OVB: you receive an e-mail with a link to set a new password. The link is valid for 1 hour. Has it expired? Simply request a new one.
- For lawyers of the OBFG: you receive a code by text message. No code? Check your spam folder, as it may have been filtered out.
- Your password stays valid for 60 days. After that, the message “Your password has expired” appears on the login page. It means you did not change your password within that period, so you are asked to set a new one before you can log in.
Why must I change my password every 60 days, and why do I see “Your password has expired”?
- To protect your data, your clients’ data and access to official sources, we have applied a stronger login policy since 2024.
- You can log in with itsme®, your lawyer card, or a strong password that is renewed every 60 days. This is not arbitrary: it is required both by our cyber security insurance and by several government services DPA is connected to.
